Instruments and Systems: Monitoring, Control, and Diagnostics Annotation << Back Optimization of Logistics and Infrastructure Monitoring at JSC "Russian Rail Ways" Based on Intelligent Clustering of UAV Swarms S.E. ADADUROV, A.B. NIKITIN, A.D. KHOMONENKO This paper explores the application of dynamic clustering technology for swarms of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to address key tasks of JSC Russian Railways. Adapted mathematical models and control algorithms for heterogeneous UAV swarms are presented, enabling the optimization of processes for monitoring extensive railway infrastructure and logistic operations. Particular attention is paid to solving three critical challenges: ensuring stable communication in complex terrain, overcoming computational complexity in managing a large drone fl eet, and protection against cyberattacks. Calculations of the effectiveness of the proposed solutions are provided, demonstrating the potential to reduce operational costs by 15–20 % while simultaneously increasing the reliability of infrastructure monitoring.
