Method of Aircraft Camoufl age in Flight
by Adaptive Infrared Signature Control |
H.H. ASADOV, G.V. ALIEVA
It is shown that the proposed method of adaptive change of flight altitude in accordance with the emissivity coefficient of the
earth's surface can be used for the purpose of masking the type of aircraft in fl ight. The problem of determining the conditions for the
receipt of an extreme total value of infrared radiation emitted by the earth's surface by an aircraft is formulated and investigated.
According to the solution of the formulated problem, with a logarithmic dependence of the fl ight altitude on the emissivity of the fl own earth's
surface, it is possible to achieve the maximum value of the difference between the total infrared radiation emitted by the aircraft and its own
infrared signature. This property can be used to control the IR signature of the aircraft for the purpose of masking it.
