On the Need to Modernize Magnetometers Intended for Control Magnetic Susceptibility of Small-Volume Samples |

The need to diagnose the magnetic susceptibility of small-volume samples (particles and their clusters) to solve scientific, industrial, environmental and biomedical problems is noted. Improved magnetometers of ponderomotive type and recently created magneto-rheological type of magnetometers are promising for this purpose. They are distinguished by the use of hemispheres, which guarantees the presence of the required zone of stable inhomogeneity in the nonuniform magnetic field created. At the same time, already at this stage of practical use of such magnetometers, there was a need to modernize their executive elements. Thus, it is preferable to visualize the boundaries of the working area (for analysis the studied sample in it) by light markers (on the reflector) from remotely installed lasers. This solution, supplemented by the possibility of their controlled vertical movement (at adjusting the boundaries of the working area, when it is necessary to use poles-hemispheres of a different diameter and/or change the distance between them), increases efficiency and reduces the labor intensity of researches. And in the implementation of the magneto-rheological principle, when it is necessary to record the accurate time of constrained sedimentation of a particle in a liquid within the boundaries of the working zone (objectively short), as well as the facts of the particle entering and leaving the working area, this is achieved using illuminated (through liquid) photodiodes.
