On the Possibility of Creating an Automatic Multi-Mode Gyrocompass With a Contactless Suspension of the Sensitive Element |

The possibility of creating an automatic multi-mode ground gyrocompass with a contactless suspension is considered. A scheme for centering the sensitive element using a pendulum electromagnetic suspension, the rotor of which is made in the form of a concave disk, is proposed. Such an original design solution allows, when designing a gyrocompass, by changing the curvature of the rotor surface over a wide range, to vary its pendulum without changing the dimensions of the device itself. The radial centering of the sensing element and the limitation of its pendulum oscillations makes it possible to switch to the operating mode of a Foucault gyroscope of the 1st kind and an angular velocity sensor. A mathematical model of a gyrocompass is presented, taking into account the limited stiffness of the magnetic suspension of the sensitive element, and its analysis is carried out.
