Cybernetic model of adaptive
electronic textbook using
the G. Rasch methodology |

Operation of an e-learning system is discussed with the general principles of cybernetics. Adaptation trajectory of training is
offered based on behavioral factors, the level of training and personal and psychological characteristics of students. The principles
of the natural growth of educational achievements through individual development zone are taken into account. The problem of
adapting trajectory of training in an environment of changing qualities of students is defined based on the principles of control
theory. An operational description of the latent quality «level of training» has been developed. An approach to scoring of current
level of training at each step of learning using Georg Rasch’s model for polytomous data is offered. The advantages of this measuring
apparatus are outlined for adaptive e-learning. Developed cybernetic description adaptive electronic textbook allowing the
problem of synthesis of optimal learning to be solved, relying on the methods and theoretical position of cybernetics.
