Instruments and Systems: Monitoring, Control, and Diagnostics Annotation << Back Base principles of construction of the general timer system of U-70 accelerating complex Komarov V.V. The article outlines the reasons for the development of the new timing system synchronizing the technological processes and control procedures at the IHEP accelerators complex. Besides that the principal solutions of the dedicated problems are described. The format of coded timing messages, the structure of the new distributed General Timing System (GTS), its basic components and timing network are considered. Special attention is paid to reliability of the GTS performance, in particular to diagnostics of malfunctions at the system. The current status, realization plan and main results of a GTS segment test are presented.
