Essential demerits of some well-known machine-building applications to the graphic editor AutoCAD are considered and analyzed from a position of the professional machine building engineer. These demerits are consequence of software developers’ incompetence in the field of machine building. As a result the applications contain obviously incorrect data and do not meet actual needs of their users and do not allow solving effectively the problems arising at real designing.
