The article deals with the problem of control the position of in-pipe diagnostic tool using to diagnostics the oil-trunk pipeline. The control is based on the determination method of distance that diagnostic tool passed. It depends on the results of pumped-in oil volume calculation. The automatic information system is developed. The system is taking into account the pipeline sec-tion design features and providing the synchronous calculation of several diagnostic tools positions and also providing the stor-age and statistical treatment of calculations results.
