The article deals with the problems of energy saving during the vane pump operation under varying load. The author offers a characteristics selection technique for the most energy-effective pump equipment, which optimal parameters are defined not by traditional ways of pump characteristics fitting, but theoretically via correlation between the virtual pump assumed characteristics and a piping system design conditions and statistical data on load distribution.
