Eddy current testing for steam turbine blades in zone reinforced by soldering stellite plates |

The article considers a task of defects identification on early stage for steam turbine blades in zone reinforced by soldering stellite plates. It shows that most likely crack propagation zone is located between stellite plates. The results of theoretical and experimental investigations for interaction between eddy current probes with defect blades are cited. It is proved that eddy current method with gain-phase signal processing providing reliable defects identification in blades’ zones affected by heat under stellite plates soldering process.
