Operating Principle and Advantages D.S. ZAMYATIN, A.P. PODSHIVALOV In the Russian Federation, one of the basic sectors of the economy is the fuel and energy raw materials and processing industry. In this fi eld of industry, the accuracy of mass measurement in the organization of technological processes is very important, and therefore there is a demand for metrological traceability of continuous-acting dispensers used in production. The Ural branch of the D.I.Mendeleyev Institute for Metrology VNIIM in Yekaterinburg has a standard of mass of the 5th category for testing for type approval, verification and calibration of continuous-acting dispensers and industrial conveyor scales, which allows enterprises to reduce the cost of metrological support for weighing equipment. The standard of mass of the 5th category, which UNIIM has been working on for 15 years, is in demand, fi rst of all, in industrial enterprises. However, the conclusions of the study are applicable everywhere, where it is necessary to establish the mass of a wide variety of measurement objects, for example, in the organization of large tonnage transportation or in warehousing, partly in pharmaceuticals, laboratory practice. The materials of this work can become the basis for further research in the fi eld of improving methods and procedures for checking continuous dispensers.
