This article presents experimental studies of a developed method and device for determining the structure of distribution networks based
on the analysis of overhead power transmission lines (OPTL) response to probing pulses. The method and device were implemented using
a hardware and software system based on National Instruments equipment and the LabVIEW software environment, which enabled the
generation of probing signals, recording of reflected pulses, and the construction of 2D/3D reflectograms. In this study, the OTL model
is a coaxial cable, which is a long line terminated with various types of loads: active resistors, inductors (10 mH, 40 mH, 100 mH), and
transformers in no-load and short-circuit modes.
Keywords: reflectometric method, OTL diagnostics, distribution network topology, OTL.
