AKHMETKINA The article presents the development of a device for monitoring the technical condition of overhead power transmission lines (OPTL), which allows online monitoring of wires and insulators on the line. The location module of the device will allow determining the structure of the OTL for the purpose of monitoring it and further melting of ice in the required area. The article presents studies of the location module. The development of such devices is of signifi cant interest to the electric power industry, as it has a number of advantages over traditional diagnostic methods, allowing to increase the effi ciency and accuracy of assessing the current state of electrical networks.
