The Influence of Dissipative Properties
of Piezoceramic Sensors on the Characteristics
of Wave Solid-State Gyroscopes |

The paper presents the results of a study of the mechanical characteristics of PKP-31 piezoceramics, which is used as a material for
sensors and actuators in inexpensive wave solid-state gyroscopes. Experimental data obtained by the method of dynamic thermomechanical
analysis show that both the elastic modulus and internal friction in this piezomaterial change unevenly during heating and cooling, while
the inelastic characteristics of piezoplates from one batch differ signifi cantly from each other. The assessment showed that the drift velocity
of the wave pattern in a wave solid-state gyroscope, associated with the inhomogeneity of internal friction in the piezomaterial, can be
hundreds of degrees per hour. The possibility of using the dynamic thermomechanical analysis method to select piezoelements with identical
characteristics is demonstrated.
