ZAICEV, V.V. SUMENKOV The article is devoted to a currently relevant topic – ensuring information security using information security incident detection and response system (SIEM). The aim of the study – to analyze the SIEM-systems, to identify the role of SIEM, determine what functions are used in systems, to learn the characteristics of generations of SIEM-systems, to identify development trends and determine the future of SIEM-systems. Market research of SIEM-systems was conducted, the history of SIEM-systems development was familiarized with, Internet-resources were used, scientific works were analyzed. As a result of this work was revealed the importance of using SIEM-systems to respond to incidents of information security, and the role of the system in the Security Operation Centre (SOC) was disclosed. The legal framework for the use of SIEM in the Russian Federation was determined. Also the most probable and perspective trends of systems development for the nearest future were revealed. The information obtained during the study allows you to predict a great future for SIEM systems and the field of information security in general.
