Automated Control System for Room Ventilation of High-Voltage Frequency Converter |

Maintaining the temperature in a room, where a high voltage frequency converter (HVFC) is located, within certain limitations is required for ensuring smooth operation of automated systems of water pumping, which use HVFCs and for increasing life time of a HVFC itself. Maintaining the required temperature is usually secured at the cost of combined extract-and-input system of ventilation. This article describes purpose of a control case elements and an operation algorithm of developed automated ventilation control system in a room with a HVFC as well. A control program for a programmable logic controller of Phoenix Contact has been written and an HMI interface has been developed for a touch graphic operator panel of Weintek. The developed automated system secures protection in case of emergencies, what increases reliability of the system as a whole.
