Modified Method for a Brushless DC Motor Parameters IdentifiСation from Step Response Curves |

The article presents a modifi ed method for identifying the parameters of a brushless DC motor from step responses. The advantage of the proposed method is the possibility of its use in automatic mode in non-productive control units without the need to install additional sensors and devices. Using the second order mathematical model, the results of comparing the accuracy of identifying the parameters of time constants using the proposed modifi ed method and nomograms according to the Pasek’s method are shown. The infl uence of the coefficient of viscous friction on the accuracy of determining the parameters is considered. The possibility of applying the method was also tested using the developed experimental setup on an electromechanical assembly containing a low-power DC brushless motor. Deviations from passport values caused by a change in a number of parameters are determined. Acceleration curves are shown, obtained experimentally and as a result of computer simulation of the dynamics of a fi ve-dimensional model describing a brushless DC motor with parameters determined during identification by the proposed method. It is noted that the modifi ed method can be used to identify the parameters of brushed DC motors.
