Development and Investigation of the Design of a Rogowsky Coil With Low Sensitivity to the Bus Conductor Displacement |

Rogowski coils were developed at the beginning of the 20th century, but their widespread use in electric power systems began relatively recently, together with the advent of microprocessor relay protection and automation devices. The measurement error of primary converters used in relay protection and automation systems must comply with the requirements of regulatory documents when they operate under the operating conditions of real power facilities. In this regard, the issue of researching the characteristics and developing the optimal design of the Rogowski coil for use in power facilities is relevant. The article systematizes the main factors that have the greatest impact on the accuracy of current measurement by the specified primary transducers. The results of simulation modeling and natural experiments of real samples are presented, and a design is proposed that makes it possible to reduce the influence of the conductor displacement relative to the center of the primary converter core circumference on its metrological characteristics.
