NARTOV The paper proposes a new approach to optimizing the initial placement of managed search units (SU) in optimal search problems with the risk of death. The starting point for the considered class of problems are the classical problems of optimal control of the search for stationary point objects with coordinate distributions given in the flat search domain. In the considered extended problems with the risk of death of the SU in the search area, the distributions of coordinates of point recording units are additionally specifi ed. When hitting a registering unit with a search unit of a given radius, both are removed from the task. The proposed method for directed optimization of the initial allocation of a group of SU is based on alternating solutions of the direct and special inverse search problems. At the same time, the realizing algorithm improves the value of the search quality functional at each step. The results obtained can be used in the development of simulation programs and algorithms for control and decision support in systems for searching for stationary objects.
