The Use of Refractometry to Ensure the Pre-Flight Preparation of Aircraft |

This article to the application of refractometric technologies based on the method of full internal reflection to ensure the preflight preparation of aircraft is devoted. The paper a study of ethylene glycol, propylene glycol and their aqueous solutions, which make up 99 % of the deicing liquid are presented. The developed refractometer is shown, which provided measurement of the refractive index of solutions in the concentration range k = 0 ... 60 % at a temperature T = 25 °C at a wavelength λ = 589 nm. Errors in determining the concentration of k(n) in solutions at T = 25 °C with a value of Δn = 0,0004 and Δk = 0,4% were determined, which fully meets the requirements of practical refractometry and the use of a submersible refractometric device at airport posts for preflight training of aircraft.
