SARTAKOV The article examines the need to implement ERP systems in the management structure of a modern organization. In the course of the work, the main features of the ERP system, the specifics of its implementation are revealed, and the German ERP-system SAP is considered in detail. The author draws attention to the SAP: PP module, which implies production management. The article reveals the main differences and capabilities of SAP in the management of a manufacturing company, and also presents the frequently used functions of the PP module. In addition, the author considered the availability of combining the PP module of the SAP company with other program modules to achieve the most effective management control of production processes. In the second part of the article, the differences in the functioning of food production in market conditions are highlighted and the requirements that the ERP system must satisfy: controllability, variability, ensuring the automation of the management process. At the end of the article, the main problems faced by the head of an enterprise when implementing an ERP system are highlighted. The relevance of the research topic is due to the growth of digitalization of the economy of the Russian Federation, as a strategic planned result, according to the Program "Digital Economy of the Russian Federation", developed until 2030, and with this, and the growing need for comprehensive computerization and automation of the production process in companies. The novelty of the study: during the study, the features of the implementation of an ERP system in manufacturing companies were considered, as an indispensable element of maintaining high competitiveness in the modern market. Purpose of the study: to consider the features of the implementation of the SAP ERP system in production.
