Thermal management on strand and tower-type furnace for recrystallization steel strip annealing |

In this paper we consider issues of thermal management on a strand and tower-type furnace for continuous steel strip annealing.
These issues are associated with operating power saving modes calculated by means of models of thermal state of the furnace and metal. We focus on management during the period when strip properties change as this period features a possible dramatic change in error of
metal thermal state modeling which is hard to predict. We provide dependencies which reflect the influence of the duration of temperature decrease of the strip below the specified level on the probability of defects on produce. We prove it is necessary to use reserves of the work space temperature to prevent any temperature decreases of the strip, including short-term ones, below the specified level.
