The basic problems are described at carrying out ground radiometric calibration of the infrared (IR) instrument of the Earth remote
sensing (ERS) spacecraft and corresponding requirements to metrological maintenance. It is relevant to carry out work on creation modern ground measurement and calibration complex for precision radiometric calibration of IR multispectral scanner. The account of the requirements for the perspective IR instrument leads to the necessity of creation measurement and calibration complex based on the large-sized
cryogenic-vacuum chamber with the cryogenic screens providing low-background vacuum conditions, simulating outer space.
