NADEZHDIN Calibration is the key point of measuring devices metrological provision. In the case of aerodynamic strain-gauge balances – the main instrumentation for measuring aerodynamic force and moment components acted on flight vehicle models during wind tunnel tests – calibration etalon device (calibration machine) is a very imposing and complicated equipment. One of the best in the world on the day automatic balance calibration machine designed and fabricated by a team of German specialists was putted into operation in TsNIImash last year. The machine presents the new generation of calibration means and intend for metrological provision of large-sized wind tunnel six component strain-gauges. Several results of the machine calibration (“master calibration”) and research on it`s possible range of application are presented in the article.
