Estimation of power spectral density on the basis of correlogram method using binary sign-function stochastic quantization of a continuous random process |

This paper proposes a new digital algorithm estimates the power spectral density (PSD) based on correlogram method and binary sign-function analog-stochastic amplitude quantization of a random process. This type of quantization allows performing an analytical calculation of the integration operations of weight functions (lag window) in the transition from continuous to discrete form of the calculation of a correlogram spectral estimate. Multiplication operations are transformed into procedures that are reduced to arithmetic operations of addition and subtraction, which substantially simplifies the complexity for calculating PSD estimators. The results of experimental estimation of the power spectral density are given. They demonstrate that the developed algorithm has stable characteristics
of determining the frequency composition of time-continuous random processes.
