SHELOMANOV The problem of testing the resistance of the product to external influencing factors (mechanical, climatic, etc.) is considered in the case when the statement of the problem assumes that experiments were carried out with product samples in which it was established that the product characteristics exceed the realization of a certain “threshold”. Realizations of product characteristics are Gaussian quantities with a priori unknown mathematical expectation and variance. The “threshold” implementations are also Gaussian and are measured with normally distributed errors having zero mean and a known variance. Based on the results obtained, it is necessary to determine whether the product characteristic exceeds the specified threshold value with a given probability, and provided that this conclusion can be trusted with a given probability as well. This approach is illustrated by an example of confidence level estimates for specific realizations of the conducted experiments.
