Diagnosis and prediction of fatigue failure based on the reliability of the results of vibration tests |

The possibilities of obtaining reliable vibration tests results by applying the new test method and the new contactless capacitive strain
sensor are considered. A method for determining the residual life of the material is developed. The time before failure prediction method
by using “deformation fatigue failure characteristic” of the material for all operating modes is proposed. There are 10 deterministic and stochastic modes. The each mode has its own fatigue curve. The deformation characteristics of fatigue failure shows that the deformation gradually increases in the process of loading with constant vibration parameters and it decreases sharply after the exhaustion of the order of 75% of the resource. The deformation diagnostic system can be mounted on the control object, such as aircraft, pipeline, sea platform, buildings. The system work during the object exploitation. The fatigue curves should be obtained on the average strain over the entire vibration loading period. Therefore the standard fatigue characteristics should be adjusted. Due to the high reliability of the vibration tests results the problems of equivalence of different test modes and the reproducibility of the test results in different laboratories are solved. We develop a method of photometric diagnostics of material destruction by using results of surface digital photos processing.
