Selection of the optimal energy x-ray radiation in a systems of digital radiography for steel ropes |

The spatial model of the steel rope in the form of a cylinder with an effective diameter that is determined by the specific weight of steel rope or a total cross-sectional area of steel wire, is considered. The set of expressions, allowing to estimate the relative error in measuring the effective diameter of wire ropes is shown. The selection criterion of maximum energy in systems of digital radiography steel ropes based on the minimization of the relative error of assessment of the effective diameter and a weak expression of the corresponding minimum proposed. The results are given solutions of the optimization problem for a range of changes in steel rope diameters ranging from 5 mm to 56 mm. Admissibility of the application of X-rays with a maximum energy of 450 keV for control of steel ropes with a diameter of 24 mm to 56 mm by means of digital radiography justified. Experimentally proved the presence of radiographic images on steel ropes periodic structures, the characteristics of which can be used as informative parameters to assess the technical condition of steel ropes.
