Photodetectors for acousto-optic delay lines |

Principles of construction and functioning smoothly-controlled delay line based on acousto-optic effect are considered. It is shown that
one of the basic units of the acousto-optic delay line (AODL) is a photodetector. Some characteristics of photosensitive devices suitable for
the construction of photodetectors AODL are discussed. Presents schematic diagrams are developed and used by the author in experimental
studies photodetectors and power supplies for photomultipliers, their brief descriptions are given. The experimental setup for the study
AODL direct detection and its constituent units are discussed. Waveforms of AODL responses on the input rectangular pulses with different
parameters are given. It is shown that the rise time response is formed by the time constant of the photodetector and the time of entering the
elastic wave packet in the optical beam. AODL response options were discussed in the context of used photosensitive devices. It is shown
that when used as a photodetector diode ФД-24K the rise time of the output response is mainly formed by its time constant, and in the case
of ФЭУ-114 – time of entering of the elastic wave packet in the optical beam.
