The article describes the gamma albedo system determining the defective sections in armored face conveyor. The physics of the method is exposing by gamma-quantum radiation the conveyor section surface and consequent registration of backscattered gamma radiation. Then the defect character can be estimated on controlled armor rod area. Suggested method provides efficient defect determination and prevents armor rod fracture.
