The article contemplates ultraviolet (UV) water disinfection method, which embodiment is utilization the high power low pressure amalgam lamps. It analyzes the features of lamps and UV disinfection installations construction and gives a short calculation of UV irradiation dose in multi-lamp installation. It also cites an example of amalgam lamps successful application at Kronshtadt drinking water purification station.
