Calibration of a Remote Acoustic
Signal Assessment System
in an Urban Environment |
V.V. BULKIN, S.S. KOZLOV, YA.D. MOLCHANOV
Obtaining data on the nature of acoustic noise propagation in an urban environment requires the use of at least two-channel meters (noise meters).
The structure of such a noise meter is proposed. One of the microphones is installed at a point near the noise source, and the second one is located at
a distance, along the path of noise propagation into the depths of the residential area. The signal from the microphones is transmitted by transmitting
devices, a two-channel receiver is connected to the processing unit, where the spectrum of the received acoustic signal is recorded. One of the
problems in the construction of such a meter is to ensure the reliability of measurements. It is proposed to use a microphone calibrator to assess the
reliability. The verifi cation of this principle was carried out using a system model created using ready-made components. It is found that the absolute
calibration error at a distance of up to 240 meters lies in the range of –0,25 ≤ Δxi ≤ 0,65 dB. The conclusion is made about the suffi cient degree of
reliability of such measurements.
