The article considers particular problems of localization of discharge sources using modules of acoustic and electromagnetic sensors, a
mathematical model of localization of a discharge source geometrically located in the plane of three sensors; a model of localization of a
discharge source in three-dimensional space using four sensors; search for a rational location of these four sensors according to the criterion
of minimum relative methodological error of localization of a discharge source; search for ways to rationalize the location of the receiving
modules of the non-destructive testing system of the substation's insulation equipment.
