Interaction With the Automatic Control System Using the Display Indication |

The optimization problem of pilot interaction with an automatic control system (ACS) is highly relevant due to the issue of ensuring flight safety, which remains signifi cant today. The aim of this article is to develop a concept for a promising technology to interact with the ACS using a touchscreen display, which allows significantly improve the ergonomic performance of the cockpit and integrating relevant software solutions into the stand base, as well as their testing with the participation of flight experts. The authors conducted an analysis of existing solutions for the implementation of touchscreen displays in the information-control field of the cockpit, identified the disadvantages of placing and interacting with the ACS panel in the current confi gurations of the cabin space of the most common types of passenger aircraft, and proposed a solution to eliminate these drawbacks - the implementation of a virtual interactive ACS panel in the display indication circuit. The virtual panel was implemented as a separate graphic layer located on the PFD (Primary Flight Display) and integrated into the stand simulating a single-crew cockpit. The use of a virtual interactive ACS panel in the cockpit of advanced aircraft realizes potential advantages in reducing the pilot’s workload and, as a result, will lead to an increase in flight safety. This issue is particularly relevant in the context of ongoing research on the creation of single-crew passenger aircraft.
