A Creation and Realization a Method of Magneto-Rheological Control of Isolated Particle’ Magnetic Susceptibility

In addition to the new being actively developed control method of sparse dispersed (in particular, powder) sample, which makes it possible to determine the magnetic susceptibility χ of a single (conditionally isolated) particle, an alternative approach is proposed and described, the purpose of which is to determine the χ of a single, precisely a single, particle. This approach (and the corresponding method not used earlier in domestic and foreign practices) consists in the constrained sedimentation of the studied particle in the liquid column (intensified by effect of an inhomogeneous magnetic field). In this case, the χ-parameter is considered as the desired parameter, the definition of which should follow from the analysis of the competition of forces acting on the particle. The requirements for the implementation of the magneto-rheological method are formulated, including the observance of stability of the magnetic force factor (within the limits of the fixed vertical movement of the studied particle, ensured by the use of a previously tested electromagnetic system with pole pieceshemispheres). When analyzing competing forces acting on a particle this allows the follow condition of their balance (in the absence of inertial force). A key expression was obtained to defi ne the χ. The results of χ determination for food impurity particles (sugar sand, tea, semolina) are presented in the form of histograms of χ-distribution.
