Intelligent Tutoring Systems: Analysis of Basic Architectures and Features of the Application of the Ontological Approach (on the Example of the Experience of Developing and Practical Use of Tutoring Integrated Expert Systems) |
G.V. RYBINA
Intelligent tutoring systems (ITS) are considered as one of the main software products of artificial intelligence. The basic architectures of ITS and the evolution of ITS development paradigms, including tools, are analyzed. Particular emphasis is placed on the use of the ontological approach in ITS. The experience of development and practical use of tutoring integrated expert systems (IES) and web-IES as full-featured ITS designed to implement typical tasks of intelligent tutoring is described.
Keywords: intelligent tutoring systems, ITS, intelligent tutoring, integrated expert systems, IES, problem-oriented methodology, AT-TECHNOLOGY workbench, ontology model, student model, tutoring model, IES architecture, web-IES, knowledge, skills, applied ontologies, ontological space, integration, monitoring.
