Estimates of the complexity data flow diagrams |
A.A. USKOV, A.G. ZHUKOVA
This paper proposes a new approach to estimating the complexity of perception data flow diagrams (DFD) based on consideration of
the functioning of short-term memory and human process of migrating data from short-term memory into long-term. Put into consideration
factor of perception models and formulas to calculate it, which allows for comparison and optimization data flow diagram for a given
parameter. The analysis of the degree of difficulty of perception in the case of homogeneous data flow diagrams (models having the same
number of blocks in all the diagrams), confirming the known empirical principle: the number of blocks diagrams should be in the range
3–6. Analysis of heterogeneous two-level data flow diagrams showed that to reduce the degree of difficulty of perception need to choose a
strategy of decomposition so that with increasing level of decomposition decreased the number of blocks on the charts. Proposed to increase
the accuracy of the estimates of difficulty perception data flow diagrams used adaptable fuzzy systems, thus, a theoretical estimate of degree
of difficulty perception used as a priori information and experimental data as the training set.
Keywords: decomposition, diagram, model, Data Flow Diagramming, complexity of perception.
