Calibration system for magnetostrictive linear movement transducers |
B.H. YASOVEEV, R.U. MUKAEV, A.A. SHMEVEL
The paper presents calibration system for magnetostrictive linear movement transducers. Relevancy of magnetostrictive linear movement transducer application in automated control systems operating in a real-time mode is stated. A method of processing of data signal coming from a primary magnetostrictive linear movement transducer having higher resolution capability and self-calibration is considered. The paper notes that it is theoretically difficult to take into account influence of errors on measurement results and therefore a method of magnetostrictive movement transducer calibration for the purpose of further error correction is offered. A calibration circuit for a magnetostrictive movement transducer is proposed and calibration algorithm is developed. An example of identifier position computation by determination of identifier intensity center is demonstrated. The paper presents a table and plots of resolution ratio of calibration system against length covered with a digital microscope and against array resolution value of a digital microscope. The magnetostrictive movement transducer calibration system provides resolution of 0,0001 mm.
Key words: magnetostrictive linear movement transducer, calibration, linear position detector, metrology, digital camera/microscope.
