Results of development during last years of gas chemical nanosensors with the sensitive elements based on tungsten oxides aresubmitted in the review. The developed devices are systematized according to construction features of their sensitive elements. Thus four nanosensor groups are defined. Group 1 is devices sensitive elements of which have a covering only from tungsten oxide. Group 2 is nanosensors with the sensitive elements containing a covering based on tungsten oxide and an external layer of other material.
Group 3 is devices sensitive elements of which have a covering from tungsten oxide, a layer of composite and an external layer of
oxide of other metal. Group 4 is nanosensors with the sensitive elements containing a covering from a composite based on tungsten
oxide. Analytical abilities of the listed device groups are demonstrated. Typical regularities are marked. In particular, ability of the
nanosensors to determination of the big number of inorganic and organic chemical compounds is presented. Influence of thickness,
morphology and composition of a covering and also temperature of sensitive elements on sensitivity and selectivity of carried out
measurements, response time and recovery time is shown.
